Course Information

The aim of this course is to provide an in-depth overview of the inspection and installation of Turbine Mounted Safety Equipment (TMSE) as required by the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations (PUWER).
Additionally, the course reviews the requirements of relevant legislation such as the Health & Safety at Work Act, Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations (PUWER), PPE and working at height regulations.
It also covers the documentation required, and various inspection techniques used and explains why turbines have certain equipment, their uses, and the importance of having regular inspections.

Regulatory Compliance - Be able to demonstrate knowledge of applicable regulations
Responsibilities - Understand the duties of personnel involved in the thorough examination and installation of turbine mounted safety equipment
Equipment - Have knowledge of the different types of turbine mounted safety equipment
Inspection Tooling - Understand the different types of tooling required to conduct examinations and their proper use
Inspection and Testing Methods - Different inspection and testing techniques to form the Thorough Examination
Thorough Examination - Be able to conduct thorough examinations in accordance with the relevant regulations
Reporting - Compile Reports of Thorough Examination
Defect Identification - Identifying defects and raising the appropriate reports

Each course participant must complete and pass a theory examination, to demonstrate a good understanding of the course content.
Additionally, each course participant must demonstrate their ability to conduct a practical examination and complete a report of Thorough Examination.

The course runs for 14 hours over 2 days.

Each participant is required to produce photographic ID on the first day of the course. Failure to do so will result in the participant being unable to attend.
